Amy Winehouse Records New Songs

It seems not even medical emergencies and alarming diagnoses can keep former SPIN cover girl Amy Winehouse down. The “Rehab” siren has begun work on her follow-up to 2006’s massively successful Back To Black — and according to the head of her label, the demos aren’t too shabby.

“I’ve heard some simple songs that she’s played me in my office on acoustic guitar, and what I’ve heard has been sensational,” said Universal Music Group Chairman and Chief Executive Lucian Grange, who spoke to BBC 6Music about the new material [via NME.com] “I believe in her as a person and I certainly believe in her as an artist and that’s what I hope for.”

So do we, Lucian, so do we– although we can think of someone who respectfully disagrees.
