It’s official: After much speculation, a statement confirms that revered rock quartet Weezer will return June 24 with the band’s third eponymous set and sixth album to date, arriving courtesy of DGC/Interscope Records. The record’s first single “Pork and Beans,” which recalls band leader Rivers Cuomo’s earlier power-pop work, will arrive digitally April 22.

Following in the footsteps of self-titled efforts coined the Blue Album and the Green Album, the forthcoming set, now referred to as the Red Album, was constructed from sessions with producer Rick Rubin and Jacknife Lee, and arrives with titles such as “Everybody Get Dangerous,” “Automatic,” and”The Angel and the One.” While you await the single and album’s release, check out a review of Cuomo’s latest release, the solo offering Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo.
