José González Maps Summer Tour

Who? Swedish-born troubadour José González, known for this gorgeous acoustic plucks and unique covers of songs like the Knife’s “Heartbeats” and Massive Attack’s “Teardrops.” His last full-length effort, In Out Nature, dropped in late 2007 — watch a video interview with González about the album!

What? A 17-date North American jaunt, focusing on the United States’ East Coast and stretching from Mexico City to Calgary, set to kick off following González’s performance at Bonnaroo 2008. Fans in cities like Louisville, Washington, DC, Boston, and Burlington, among others, can expect the singer/songwriter to arrive in June.

Should I go? Sure. Though González has already toured extensively behind In Our Nature, his delicate ditties and pensive narratives, plus the choice tunes off his debut Veneer, make for a moving show — even if you already seen him a handful of times.
