Last week, Spinmagazine and Music Nation’s online challenge in search of the nextbreakout rock act, the Hot Pursuit, collected 16 winners from eightweeks of heated competition for the quarterfinals. Now after a solidweek of battle, eights bands remain. Starting today, quarterfinalswinners the Jetsetting, the Fire and Reason, the Soldier Thread, Ainjel Emme, Victorian Halls, the Scarlet, the Features, and Some Random Bandwill kick off the semifinals competition, all vying for a sought afterseat in the Hot Pursuit’s final round, slated to begin Dec. 10 at 12A.M.
