Watch Dengue Fever Live!
These eclectic rockers bring a taste of Cambodian rock'n'roll to Brooklyn.
Revitalizing the once outlawed sounds of Cambodia’s ’60s psych-rock movement, Los Angeles-based outfit Dengue Fever trekked across the nation this past summer for a dip at Brooklyn’s renowned Pool Parties. Before the band’s midday set, frontwoman Chhom Nimol and guitarist/vocalist Zac Holtzman take a minute to chat with SPIN.com about their forthcoming album, which at the time was nearly complete, the origin of the band’s, um, quite infectious moniker, and, naturally, the half-monkey half-man blocking the sun. Look out for Hanuman!
Check out the interview, and afterwards, watch footage of the three tunes from Dengue Fever’s set.
