The Scarlet, Victorian Halls Battle in Hot Pursuit’s Finals!

After intense competition in the semifinals, two victorious bands vie for the booty in Spin and Music Nation's talent competition.

Filtering several thousand competitors over eights weeks of battle, Spinmagazine and Music Nation’s online challenge in search of the nextbreakout rock act, the Hot Pursuit, has at long last reached the finalround. Starting today (Dec. 11), Yorktown Heights, NY’s the Scarlet, which Tim Kasher,judge and frontman of both the Cursive and the Good Life, says is”better that 98% of music out there today,” will vie against Chicago’s Victorian Halls, a theatrical outfit judge and alt-rocker Perry Farrell calls “punchy and tight.”

Rememberwhat’s on the line: The winner will receive a record deal with OriginalSignal Recordings/Epic Records, a slot on the bill at Spin’salways anticipated, always packed annual SXSW party at Stubb’s inAustin, TX, and song inclusion on an upcoming 2K Sports video game.
