Lupe Fiasco Plots Tour; Los Campesinos! Unveil Debut Tracklist, Release Date

Chicago’s own Lupe Fiasco is currently out and about stoking the fire behind the Dec. 18 release of The Cool.And to commemorate the album’s arrival, the rapper will perform a gigat New York City’s Irving Plaza before returning to his hometown for ashow, and heading to Hawaii to close out 2007 with a little face timewith fans, and, naturally, the beach. Next, in early 2008 after theholiday rigmarole is said and done, Fiasco will return to the road fora hefty list of dates throughout January, set to kick off in PortlandJan. 10, and hit audiences nationwide.

Los Campesinos! Unveil Debut Tracklist, Release Date

Spin‘s Lollapalooza festie-besties Los Campesinos! have finally revealed the once secret release date and “tracklisting and stuff” for the band’s debut Arts&Crafts LP: Hold On Now, Youngster will arrive stateside Feb. 25 as a digital download, while the conventional CD lands April 1. According to NME.com, the album’s next single, “Death to Los Campesinos!,” will preface the album’s release and hit airwaves Feb. 11.

Decemberists Return with Seattle, Portland Gigs

As any lit-loving rock fan should recall, Portland-based outfit the Decemberists were forced to cancel their “Long and Short of It” tourdue to an unidentified band member’s unidentified illness — vague, weknow. But now, in a glimmer of hope, the Decembrists have slated astring of dates, albeit in the band’s backyard.

“We know thismay be a small consolation to those of you outside of Portland andSeattle that had tickets to the fall tour, but the band has rested upand was excited to play some dates close to home,” a band website post read. “These shows will be neither Longs nor Shorts, just good ol’ fashioned Decemberists shows.” [Via Pitchfork]

Silverchair to Dispatch ‘Greatest View’ EP Via iTunes

Like Metric, Midlake, and many others before them, Aussie alt-rockers Silverchair will drop an exclusive iTunes EP of B-sides and remixes. The Greatest ViewEP, slated to hit the online outlet Dec. 18, will features six songsincluding its title track, the latest single from the band’s 2007 set Young Modern, which was originally featured on Silverchair’s 2003 LP, Diorama. What’s more, is fellow countrymen the Presets will provide a remix of “Straight Lines,” a tune co-written by the Presets’ leader Julian Hamilton and Silverchair’s Daniel Johns. Two Young Modern B-sides and two videos will also arrive with the digital EP.
