Prelude to Bumbershoot

The Northwest has long been a breeding ground for significant, landscape-altering music, and its unofficial capitol, Seattle, has chiefly acted as the epicenter, cranking out innumerable influential artists and musical genres. And this weekend, Seattle will once again play host to music’s upper echelon as loads of local artists, both relatively unknown bands and steadfast stars, welcome musical acts from across the globe for the 37th annual Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival.

In preparation for the event, SPIN.com arrived to Seattle a little early to set up shop for the Labor Day weekend extravaganza ahead, and detail our plan of attack. Join SPIN.com’s Peter Gaston atop the Space Needle, which is perched directly over the festival grounds, to soak in the sweeping views and hear details on the numerous interviews and live concert footage, including clips from the Shins, BRMC, Panic! At the Disco, and more set to hit SPIN.com throughout the weekend.
