Tour Updates: Dinosaur Jr., David Bazan

Do you hear that thundering, earth shaking, prehistoric clamor? Well, so does Jeff Goldblum, but here, it’s not a revived T-Rex stampede, but rather an axe-heavy alt-rock incarnation strolling into an assortment of major cities nationwide. Yes indeed, Dinosaur Jr. have slated a handful of dates to the band’s world tour behind Beyond, the reunited trio’s first recorded material together in nearly 20 years. Now, following a lengthy jaunt throughout Europe, the band will land stateside and take their face-slashing six-string fingerings through New York and Philadelphia, as well as West Coast cities like Seattle, Portland, and Los Angeles.

9/8, Los Angeles, CA (The Wiltern)

David Bazan, also known for his work under the Pedro the Lion moniker, will spread his musical catharsis to a vast number of cities nationwide this fall in an attempt to stir chatter for his forthcoming, yet-to-be titled Barsuk record. Kicking off in Minneapolis Sept. 4, Bazan’s whopping 37-date outing will then lead the bearded troubadour into midwestern cities such as Milwaukee, Chicago, and Little Rock. Next, Bazan will weave through Texas, drop into Nebraska, Kansas, and Ohio before strolling through eastern seaboard outposts like New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Following a jaunt down the East Coast, Bazan will double back in Florida, and cap his lengthy tour in Newport, KY Nov. 13.
