Tour Updates: Editors, Okkervil River

Brit quartet Editors have confirmed a September North American outing in support of their forthcoming sophomore LP, An End Has A Start, out stateside July 17 via FADER/Epic. The tour, kicking off in Washington, D.C. Sept. 9, will lead the gloomy rockers through cities such as Boston, New York, and Chicago before pushing west, stopping through Minneapolis, Denver, and Salt Lake City along the way. From there, Editors will descend the West Coast from Vancouver, B.C. to Los Angeles, hitting Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco, among others, en route. Tickets for all performances go on sale tomorrow (June 26) via concertmaps.com.

In related news, Pitchfork reports that Austin, TX-based folkies Okkervil River have also mapped a September tour behind The Stage Names, the band’s fifth release, due Aug. 7. Over the course of roughly one month and 23 gigs, Okkervil River will deliver its brand of folk-pop to fans in cities across North America, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle as well as Denver, Chicago, and Boston. The outing will wrap Oct. 6 with a performance at Houston, TX’s Walter’s on Washington venue.
