Beirut Reveal More Album Details

Apparently those long hours cooped up in a New Mexico studio have paid off for gypsy lovin’ popster Beirut, a.k.a. Zach Condon, for the 21-year-old musical wunderkind has announced that his currently untitled sophomore LP will drop Oct. 9 via Ba Da Bing! Plus, Condon has even offered a complete tracklisting — the wacky kid starts with track zero — and a supporting tour to boot. As previously reported, the new record, the follow up to 2006’s Gulag Orkestar, departs Condon’s previous Balkan sonics for lovey-dovey French chamber pop covered in strings courtesy of Final Fantasy’s Owen Pallett and an eight-member orchestra. His supporting U.S. mini-tour will kick off with a show for New Jersey’s brainiest, slated for Sept. 23 in Princeton, before heading north to New York and Montreal, the latter where bits and pieces of the yet-to-be titled 13-track affair was recorded. From there, Beirut will turn south to Chicago and finally cap with three shows in California.
