The first time we met Cold War Kids, it was a really late night in New York City, in a really dark Lower East Side club. The whiskey had been flowing for hours by the time they unleashed their gospel-tinged nouveau blues and blew our minds. But playing at 1 P.M. in blazing sunlight is an entirely different proposition, and we talked to the band about embracing the daylight, and about playing with Elvis Perkins at a special press-only Bonnaroo set (photo below).
