Eclectic Danish eight-piece Under Byen will hit the U.S. this summer for a string of performances opening for the Album Leaf. The nine-date tour, launched in support of Samme Stof Som Stof, the band’s third album and U.S. debut released in October 2006, will see Under Byen warm stages in West Coast cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle before trekking east for one solo, tour-concluding gig July 9 in New York.

Smoosh, a.k.a. Seattle-based sisters Chloe and Asya, have announced a handful of festival appearances as well as a collection of June dates opening for the Pipettes’ previously announced outing in continual support of Smoosh’s 2006 album Free to Stay. The tour, kicking off this weekend with a performance at Sasquatch!, will then link the girls, along with their sister Maia joining on bass, with the Pipettes for a 10-date run, hitting cities like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. The newfound trio will round off the summer with performances at festivals like Lollapalooza and Seattle’s Bumbershoot.
