Tour Updates: Dinosaur Jr., Violent Femmes

Monstrous alt-rock shredders Dinosaur Jr. have appended five U.S. dates to their previously announced tour in support of Beyond, the band’s first album together as an original lineup — seminal axeman/vocalist J. Mascis, bassist Lou Barlow, and drummer Murph — in over 16 years. Dinosaur Jr. will now sate heshers with eardrum collapsing buzz saw pop in cities like Burlington, Cambridge, and Denver before jetting off to Europe for a lengthy tour.

Add it up dear friends, folk punk outfit Violent Femmes have announced a 15-date U.S. tour this summer, set to kick off in Chicago June 16, BrooklynVegan.com reports. From there, Violent Femmes will head east, stop through Buffalo and Brooklyn, then bounce over to the Midwest, hitting cities like Milwaukee, their hometown, Denver, and Kansas City. Next, the quartet will perform an assortment of shows across the U.S. from Louisville to Las Vegas.
