Sullivan Ready for ‘Collection’

Currently on the road with label mates MxPx as a part of the Tooth and Nail Tour, Chapel Hill, NC’s Sullivan carries their emo-tinged heart like a badge of armor. Those loyal to Jimmy Eat World and the Almost’s latest offering, Southern Weather, “should know how it feels to get cut down” — some pretty pinch-hitting words found on Sullivan’s brain-blistering cut, “Great for My Collection.” Featured on their studio full-length debut, Cover Your Eyes (out June 5th), “Great for My Collection” tells a story of a hostage taker’s monologue to his victim before the kill and his feelings of remorse, desperation, compassion and twisted affection with lead singer Brooks Paschal asking repeatedly, “How far do you want to go over?” Soft piano lines, ferocious guitar riffs and screamo-driven vocals lead you through this emotional tale that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
