Not even a robbery at the heart of the Smashing Pumpkins machine can derail Zeitgeist, the band’s first effort in over seven years, due July 10, and the growing string of supporting, much-hyped live shows. For Billy Corgan and crew, whoever they may be, have announced two live residencies, slated for Asheville, NC and San Francisco, billed for nine and eight shows each, respectively.
First, beginning June 23, the band will hit Asheville’s Orange Peel venue for a nine-performance, two-week tenure. Next, following an appearance at Live Earth, the Pumpkins will cross the nation, and settle into San Francisco’s famed Fillmore hall to crank out eight shows over ten days. From there, the band will play Virgin Fest and cross the Atlantic for a summer’s worth of European festival appearances.
