Jackson Buys Eminem, Björk, Beck Rights

In a characteristic move sure to stir a sour memory in one Paul McCartney, legendary singer Michael Jackson has purchased the Famous Music LLC catalogue from Viacom, which includes tunes from Beck, Björk, and ironically, Eminem, NME.com reports. In addition to now owning rights to the Detroit rapper’s breakout hit “The Real Slim Shady,” Jackson also snatched up Eminem’s 2002 hit “Without Me,” whose music video famously parodied Jackson. “This is a milestone event for Sony/ATV Music Publishing,” Jackson said in a statement. “The diverse collection of songs in this catalogue range from timeless classics to contemporary hits. I am pleased to add the acquisition of Famous Music to Sony/ATV.” More Eminem and Jackson beef to ensue? Likely.
