Tour Updates: Animal Collective, Electric Soft Parade

Colorful pop oddities Animal Collective have confirmed dates for the band’s 17-stop outing, commencing May 14 at Columbus, OH’s Wexner Center. From there, the New York-based sonic voyagers will head through Midwestern outposts like Chicago, Omaha, and Iowa City before logging gigs in assorted Southwestern and Southern cities like Austin, Dallas, and Birmingham. To conclude, Animal Collective will descend upon Manhattan’s southern tip for a gig at the Seaport Music Festival June 1. Between shows Animal Collective is logging studio hours on the their follow up 2005’s Feels, expected to drop this September via Domino.

Brighton, England’s eclectic prog outfit the Electric Soft Parade, fronted by brothers Alex and Tom White, have announced the band’s first ever North American tour, a 16-date nationwide jaunt supporting the release of the their stateside debut No Need To Be Downhearted, available tomorrow (April 24) via the Better Looking imprint. Kicking off May 22 in San Diego, the tour will lead ESP through numerous California cities toting assorted openers before rendezvousing with BrakesBrakesBrakes and Pela, both whom will open the remainder of the band’s tour, May 30 in Los Angeles. From there, ESP will hit cities such as Seattle, Omaha, and Montreal before wrapping June 15 in Hoboken, NJ.
