Ne-Yo, Arckid Serve Up Musical Cocktail

High fashion, flavorsome drinks, and awesome tunes were in plentiful supply last night (April 24) as Arckid and Ne-Yo took to the stage at Manhattan’s Arena lounge for the inaugural Hennessy Artistry Tour concert.

The event, drawing hip-hop heavyweights and industry honchos such as Jay-Z, Jermaine Dupri, Marc Ecko, Def Jam’s L.A. Reid, and even Mandy Moore, kicked off with a rollicking seven-song set from Leeds, England-born and New York City-dwelling power popsters Arckid, who delivered glam infused electro punk gems such as “Stay,” “Hearts Not In It,” and “Disguise My Youth.”

Next, following a brief set from guest DJs D-Nice and Paul Sevigny, Ne-Yo, sporting a tipped top hat and brown leather jacket, fueled the spruce and bubbly crowd with flashy dance steps, while soothing out R&B jams like “When You’re Mad,” the harmonious super-hit “So Sick,” and a tune the singer himself confirmed as the first single from his forthcoming album of the same name, “Because of You.”

All the while, gala attendees sipped on gratis concoctions alongside the stars, and at least one attendee who yearned to knock back a few beside H.O.V.A. was certainly granted his wish. STORY AND PROFILE PHOTOS BY WILLIAM GOODMAN / PHOTOS BY MARION CURTIS

We asked: If you had the opportunity to sip on some Hennessy with an artist of you choice, who would you select?
