Ex-Darkness Members Reform, Record New Album

Former members of British hard-rock outfit the Darkness — bassist Richie Edwards, guitarist Dan Hawkins, and drummer Ed Graham — have announced their reformation without Justin Hawkins, the former fiery frontman who quit the band in late 2006 due to drug and alcohol problems (read more), NME.com reports. The remaining trio, now fronted by Edwards, will adopt a new yet-to-be determined band moniker. In addition, Edwards revealed via the band’s Myspace page the group is prepping material for a new album. “It’s finally happened, the big red record button has been pressed and we’ve officially started our album,” he wrote. A band representative could not be reached for comment.
