Production mastermind and Aftermath CEO Dr. Dre has inked a multiyear production deal with New Line Cinema via his newborn company, Crucial Films, DailyVariety.com reports. Dre, who will work closely with longtime music video collaborator Phillip Atwell, will initially mainly focus on the musical side of film projects but has set his future silver screen endeavors high. “I eventually want to get into directing,” Dre told DailyVariety.com. Toby Emmerich, New Line Cinema producer, elaborated: “[Dre’s] records have always been very narrative in nature, and you can tell from his songs that he understands how to tell a story.”
