A Benefit for New Orleans

There’s only one better way to celebrate Mardi Gras: celebrating Mardi Gras for a good cause. Midnight Kitchen’s “Mardi Gras: Brooklyn” party this week at Union Hall raised funds for the New Orleans branch of Habitat for Humanity and featured bands like the Hungry March Band, the Dansettes, Stephane Wrembel, M Shanghai String Band, Blue Vipers of Brooklyn, Snuggle T and the Hugs, and the World Famous Pontani Sisters burlesque act. Comedian Dave Hill hosted, and DJs Grand Pah and Ryan Gannon rocked the decks.

SPIN.com and Le Tigre are giving away two limited edition Mardi Gras polo shirts (one men’s and one women’s, pictured at right) and we hope you’ll take a look at the Habitat for Humanity website after you enter to win. Check out all the hard work going on to rebuild the Big Easy.
