U.K. Music Event to Make New York Debut

Manchester, England’s music industry convention In the City will cross the Atlantic for its first ever In the City of New York event, slated to take place June 13-14. The convention will be curated by Yvette Livesey and English music-scene stalwart Tony Wilson (famously depicted in 24 Hour Party People), and it will attract industry leaders and innovators to deliver debates about the biz and introduce new bands via a series of panels, seminars, master classes, and nightly performances by assorted British artists. The event has previously included music legends such as the Smiths’ Andy Rourke, Echo & the Bunnymen’s Ian McCulloch, and Public Enemy’s Chuck D, among others. In the City of New York’s performing acts, panelists, and interview subjects will be announced in April.
