Although the Pierces’ ethereal harmonies may suggest angelic descent, there is more to these sisters than white robes. “Go to Heaven” is an acoustic tale of seduction (“Take off all the clothes that you have on / And make love to me until the sun comes up”), a song Alison Pierce admitted to SPIN.com is “one you hope your mother never hears.” Pierce’s mom did listen to it (“She still loves me,” the singer said), as did the showgoers who caught the duo on tour opening for Albert Hammond Jr. in the U.K. The Pierces are preparing for the March 20 release of Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge on Lizard King Records.
