LCD Soundsystem, the electronic post-punk moniker of DFA producer James Murphy, has announced his upcoming album, Sound of Silver, will drop March 20 on DFA/Capitol Records. Recorded on an upstate New York farm with live band members Nancy Whang, Pat Mahoney, and Tyler Pope, Sound of Silver marks the third effort for Murphy, who released LCD Soundsystem’s self-titled debut in 2005 and the Nike/iTunes work-out collabo 45:33 last year. The new album will be led by single “North American Scum,” and, of course, its tunes promise to boast lots of cowbell.
