Busta Rhymes Posts Bail

After spending a day in a lower Manhattan jail, Busta Rhymes posted $3,500 bail and walked free yesterday following an arraignment in which the rapper was served with two third-degree assault charges filed by his ex-driver, the Associated Press reports. The rapper’s former chauffeur, Edward Hatchett, claims the 34-year-old Rhymes punched him in the head and neck with a closed fist and kicked him in the ribs and torso during an argument over payroll issues Dec. 26. Busta’s lawyer, Robert Kalina, told the court his client “adamantly denies all allegations.” Ordered to stay away from Hatchett, Busta will appear again in court Feb. 20.
