Mary Poppins’ Evil Side Revealed!

Ah, the splendors of the holiday season. Finally a chance to rest those weary bones, recline with family, and indulge in copious amounts of chocolate, eggnog, and other seasonal trimmings. But don’t forget the timeless American pastime of gathering in front of the tube for classics such as Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, and a favorite of SPIN.com’s, Mary Poppins. This re-working of Mary Poppins is not a spoonful of sugar. Now framed as a horror movie, Scary Mary seeks to illustrate another littler known side of dear Ms. Poppins.

Prepare your most delightful childhood memories for annihilation as the once nurturing and proper English nanny flips her lid and forces a spoon-full of high-powered LSD down your little throat. She then takes control of your every move in a haunting and psychedelic madhouse filled with neurotic toys and child-eating chimneys. Sounds like fun, huh? Now, just let the medicine go down in the most delightful way!

Here’s what the people are saying:

“We’ve all seen the many movie re-cuts that seem to be so popular now. Many are sub-par, but every once in awhile, there’s a really clever one. Scary Mary is one of the better trailers I’ve seen. And now makes me wish it was a real horror movie – who knew they could make a lady flying.” — Nick

“This clip is effin’ brilliant, made me laugh out-loud. Scary Mary! No, seriously, check it out. You will love it! Really! It is practically perfect in everyway.” — Ed and Tony

“A spoon full of sugar indeed.”– megfowler

“She’s slightly creepy to begin with, so it wasn’t too much of a stretch actually! Thanks a ton!” — moviemkr, youtube.com
