Spin at the Cutting Room

Ending CMJ’s five-day run of bands and booze, an eclectic group of bands were slated for a midnight party at NYC’s Cutting Room sponsored by Spin, SoBe No Fear, Budweiser, and Indie 103 Saturday. The alt-rock Nashville-based Luna Halo opened the event by playing songs off their upcoming self-titled album, and lead singer Nathan Barlowe joked, “This is our new hit single, though it’s not a hit or a single yet,” before jumping into “Kings and Queens.” Next up was the heavily U2-influenced band the Ruse from Los Angeles, kicking out crowd-pleasing rock anthems. As 3 A.M. rolled around, Malbec took the stage to treat the crowd to their poppy melodies, and electro-rockers Oliver Future closed the night’s line-up.
