Scorsese to Document the Stones

Paramount Pictures has picked up the rights to release a new Rolling Stones documentary filmed by Martin Scorsese. The project, which Scorsese began shooting over the weekend at a special show the Stones played for President Clinton’s birthday at New York’s Beacon Theater, will be slated for a late-2007 release. Scorsese is no stranger to rock docs, having directed The Last Waltz, which chronicled the Band’s final performance, and last year’s Bob Dylan project, No Direction Home.
