Haunting New Video from Fernando

Though he’s Argentine-born and L.A.-bred, the hushed strumming on much of Fernando Viciconte’s fifth album, Enter to Exit, makes it easy to confuse him for a brooding Brit reclaiming the ’70s heyday of pop melancholia. Now, the haunting new video for “The Change in Us” makes it easy to mistake the troubled troubadour for…a canine killer? Filmed in Portland, the clip juxtaposes beautiful L.L. Bean scenery with the singer skulking silently behind a man and his Labrador. We’re pretty sure no animals were harmed in the making of this film, but the opening lyrics (“There’s a killer loose in Laurelhurst Park / The dogs are droppin’ just like flies”) will probably raise a few eyebrows in the ASPCA anyway.
