Decemberists’ Meloy Proud of Montana

Colin Meloy weighs in on the recent election, when his home state of Montana turned itself blue.

Earlier this week, SPIN.com told you what some of your favorite artists had to say about the outcome of the midterm elections, and now the Decemberists’ Colin Meloy is weighing in, telling us why he’s proud to be from the state of Montana where the narrow victory for Senator John Tester helped cinch Democrats’ control of the Senate. “I’m awfully proud of my Montana heritage at this point,” Meloy told SPIN.com. “Seeing [John] Tester take that Senate seat was beautiful. Having that victory have such a profound effect on the balance of the Senate was amazing. Besides, I had some good friends working for his campaign and it was great to see all their hard work go to such a good end. It’s lovely to see Montana return to the hands of the Dems.”
