Coachella Expanded to Three Days

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival — the event that’s recently hosted the likes of Radiohead, Madonna, Daft Punk, the Pixies, and Gnarls Barkley, among many others — will be expanded from a two-day gig to a three-day event when it takes place April 27-29 of next year. The following weekend (May 5-6), Coachella promoters Goldenvoice will inaugurate an as-yet-untitled country music festival that’s, as of press time, rounded out with Willie Nelson, Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris, and more. Both events will be held at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, CA. There’s no word yet on when the Coachella lineup will be announced, a spokesperson for the event confirmed to SPIN.com.
