New Track from Gliss

Gliss have given SPIN.com a version of their cut, “Innocent Eyes,” that you can’t find anywhere else, even on the trio’s debut, Love the Virgins (out Oct. 24). In this mix, the L.A.-based band strip down the song’s underlying dark chug, and complement it with thinner layers of reverb and Martin Klingman’s ever-grittily hypnotic croon. Klingman wrote the song just before heading out on tour with Editors earlier this year, and, as he explains to SPIN.com, the track has a deceivingly “simple” story: “The song is about heroin [and] the journey through a narcotic state of calm, warm, innocent feelings associated with its use.”
