New Track from David & the Citizens

Swedish indie pop sextet David & the Citizens have already earned a Grammy nod in their home country for Best Pop Group, and now they’re bringing their eclectic tunes Stateside via Until the Sadness Is Gone (out Oct. 31). That album’s “Glued to the Light” is an “acoustic, eerie, folkish, sad nightmare,” frontman David Fridlund told SPIN.com, but it is one of his favorites. “The song is about the city where I grew up, Eskilstuna, which an industrial city about an hour from Stockholm,” Fridllund revealed. He referred to his hometown as “safe” and “boring,” but one with buried skeletons: “I think the most polished surface hides the darkest secrets.”
