Menudo Sign with Epic

Menudo, the Latin boy band franchise best known for giving us Ricky Martin and kicking out its members when they sprouted facial hair, will soon be back in action. Epic has signed a new bilingual version of the group and plans to release a new album in late 2007, according to Billboard.com. But before that can happen, the group of 15-19-year-olds will be assembled via a reality show that will debut on MTV next fall; initial auditions kick off Oct. 21 at San Juan’s Coliseo de Puerto Rico, and auditions in Florida, San Antonio, and Los Angeles will follow. Johnny Wright, former manager for New Kids on the Block, ‘N Sync, Justin Timberlake, and others will manage the new Menudo, which will have a Latin-infused R&B sound.
