Cohen Plotting Borat Follow-Up

Borat hasn’t hit theaters in wide release yet, but already there’s a bidding war for Sacha Baron Cohen’s next film, Bruno. Universal Pictures (which offered upwards of $42 million for worldwide rights to the film, making it the leading contender as of Oct. 26) and Fox (which is releasing Borat) are among the bidders, according to Hollywood Reporter. Cohen hopes to start shooting the film, which will center on another one of the comedian’s alter egos, a gay fashionista from Austria who calls himself “the voice of Austrian youth TV,” this summer. Jay Roach, who co-produced Borat with Cohen, would co-produce Bruno, as well. No director has been set yet.
