Sum 41 Album Details Surface

Canadian pop-punks Sum 41 have told fans they plan to release a new album in mid-2007. In the Q&A portion of their website, Avril Lavigne’s hubby, Deryck Whibley, and his fellow Sums responded to fan queries about the band’s progress on their follow-up to 2004’s Chuck, noting they have more than 15 songs written whose sound will be “more like [their] first 2 albums. Upbeat and fun with a few slower songs as well.” Sum also explain they will not be replacing guitarist Dave “Brown Sound” Baksh, who left to start new group Brown Brigade, but will be testing out guitarists to go on tour with them in support of the new album.
