Indie rock heavy-hitters So Many Dynamos are set to release their sophomore album, Flashlights, tomorrow (Sept. 12), and judging by that album’s “Search Party,” it’ll be full of emphatic shouts and triumphant sonic thrusts. Luckily, the quartet have as much a knack for urgent noise-spiels as they do for restraint, and their onslaught of machine-gun percussion is consistently beset by chiming guitar and atonal horns before it caterwauls off the map. But maybe being lost isn’t such a bad thing for So Many Dynamos, who enthusiastically chant, “There will be no search party for us.”
