Final Fantasy Wins Canadian Prize

Final Fantasy’s second album, He Poos Clouds, has nabbed the Polaris Music Prize, Canada’s award for a full-length album based solely on artistic merit, beating out releases by artists like Wolf Parade, Broken Social Scene, Metric, and the New Pornographers for the honor. This project of Owen Pallett, who also moonlights in Arcade Fire, earned $20,000 when a group of 11 jury members from radio stations and publications across Canada convened Sept. 18 and voted his album the best of ten nominees.

Talk: Do you think Pallett’s creation deserved to win or did you fantasize about another artist getting the honor? COMMENT
