Art Brut Founding Member Records, Tours

The band's original guitarist, Chris Chinchilla, is hitting the road and the studio with his new group, Macaca Mulatta.

Chris Chinchilla, the founding guitarist for cheeky Brits Art Brut who was replaced by Jasper Future, is kicking his new career into gear with a tour and a return to the studio. Chinchilla amicably splitting from Art Brut in September 2005 after the release of the band’s debut, Bang Bang Rock and Roll, and he formed Macaca Mulatta with former members of London punk outfit, Rhesus. The band are in the studio working on a new EP and have a few shows lined up in September and October in the U.K., with more U.K. dates and an Australian tour to come. Until they release another EP, Macaca Mulatta is tiding fans over with some rough demos, available on their MySpace page.
