Update: Keane Frontman in Rehab

Shortly after announcing they would be canceling a trio of tour dates as lead singer, Tom Chaplin, was suffering from exhaustion (read more), Keane revealed Chaplin is being treated for drug and alcohol problems. “I’ve been having to deal with an increasing problem with drink and drugs, and the time has come to get the professional help I need to sort myself out,” Chaplin wrote in a post on Keane’s official site. “I feel desperately disappointed to be letting down our fans, but I want to get myself right now so that I can be back on the road for the rest of the year.”

Keane have now postponed a series of North American dates, added on to the previously cancelled appearances at the Ibiza Rocks event (Aug. 23), T on the Fringe in Edinburgh (Aug. 30), and what was supposed to be a secret show in Dublin (Aug. 31). The band plans to reschedule the postponed dates.
