Pete Doherty Flubs Passport Photo, Misses Gig

Babyshambles had no choice but to cancel a gig in Ibiza yesterday after singer Pete Doherty had his passport refused and was unable to obtain a new one. The band was set to headline a show with the Futureheads at Bar M in San Antonio, but when they attempted to board the plane, Doherty discovered his passport had expired, according to the UK paper, The Mirror. The singer applied for a temporary one, but officials refused his photo, as the singer’s pose in it did not comply with strict passport photo regulations. This is the second time Babyshambles missed a gig at Bar M: Last month they were scheduled to play but had to cancel due to Doherty’s stint in rehab. “We’re really disappointed that the rescheduled Ibiza Rocks Babyshambles gig at Bar M had to be cancelled at the last minute,” Ibiza Rocks promoter Andy McKay told NME.com. “It was sold out and everybody on the island was really hyped about it, but the problem with Pete’s passport was genuine and despite a lot of effort by him and us to do so, it just couldn’t be sorted at such short notice. We’re already trying to get another date sorted for September. Hopefully it will be a case of third time lucky!”
