Lil Jon Toasts VMAs Crunk-Style

Worlds collided at Lil Jon’s Crunk Party, presented by Oakley, at NYC rock bar Snitch (co-owned by members of Velvet Revolver), as hip-hop stars, punk rockers, and assorted celebrities converged, creating a maelstrom of grilles, lip rings, dreds, and tattoo sleeves. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of all was they all came together to get down and dirty thanks to a shared love of ’80s hair metal delivered by cover band Metal Skool, who were clad in full metal garb of spandex, hair extensions, and eyeliner. The group delivered an aural assault of classics by Guns N’ Roses, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, and Bon Jovi, and they welcomed artists like Disturbed’s David Draiman, AFI’s Davey Havok, and Lil Jon onstage as guest vocalists. Also spotted in the crowd were Wyclef Jean, Christina Milian, Bam Margera, All-American Rejects’ Tyson Ritter, Laguna Beach‘s Jason Wahler, and Andy Milonakis, who was working the dance floor with a frisky platinum blonde. The fusion of musical flavors generated an infectiously high energy level, as everybody, much to the delight of host Lil Jon, got crunked. STORY AND PHOTOS TRICIA SUMMERS
