Lawsuit Filed Against Rapper Proof’s Estate

More than four months after the Detroit shootout that left D12 rapper Proof and a man named Keith Bender dead, Bender’s family has filed a lawsuit against the rapper’s estate, claiming he was liable for attacking and wounding Bender outside the CCC after-hours club April 11. Bender did not die at the time of the incident, but succumbed to injuries incurred during the shootout one week later. The lawsuit, filed by Bender’s family Tuesday (Aug. 22) in Wayne County Circuit Court, does not seek a specific amount from Proof’s estate, according to the AP. In May, Bender’s family filed a wrongful death suit against Proof’s estate, but that suit was dismissed.

Talk: As their last suit was dismissed, do you think Bender’s family will be successful with this suit? COMMENT
