Keane Cancel Tour Dates, Cite Exhaustion

Keane have been forced to cancel a trio of tour dates as their lead singer is suffering from a bout of exhaustion. “Due to an extremely punishing worldwide promotion and touring schedule over the last few months,” the band wrote on their MySpace page, “Tom is suffering from exhaustion and has been advised to take a proper rest so that he can get himself back to full fitness in time for the rest of this year’s touring activities.” The affected dates are the Ibiza Rocks event (Aug. 23), T on the Fringe in Edinburgh (Aug. 30), and what was supposed to be a secret show in Dublin (Aug. 31).

“I am gutted that I have to take a break from touring,” Chaplin said in a statement. “I was really looking forward to these dates, but if it means we can do what we’ve got planned for the rest of the year then I’ll take the time off. I want to apologise to our fans, and I hope that everyone understands. Be assured that we will be back out there soon.”
