In the title-track off his forthcoming release, Born in the U.K., British indie pop maestro Badly Drawn Boy asks where you were in the hot summer of ’76, and the just-released video for the song features myriad memorabilia from that year. The advertisements and photos featured in the clip aren’t of landmark products or events, but they’re of the more obscure variety (remember Jilted John? Didn’t think so). What is wholly recognizable, though, is the clip’s birthing scene at the beginning and the British iconography running throughout, reinforcing the fact Badly Drawn Boy really was born in the U.K.
