Emily Haines Announces Solo Trek

Emily Haines, Metric frontwoman and moonlighting member of Broken Social Scene, will play a series of preview performances in support of her debut solo effort, Knives Don’t Have Your Back, this fall. Prior to the release of Knives Sept. 26, Haines will play intimate gigs in five cities in the U.S. and Canada. Along the way, bassist Paul Dillon and Sparkelhorse’s drummer Scott Minor will accompany her as members of the Soft Skeleton Band, the name she gave the group of musicians who worked with her on the album. The brief trek kicks off Sept. 12 in Toronto, where the Soft Skeleton Band will also include the Tokai String Quartet and a horn section composed of Jimmy Shaw (Metric/Broken Social Scene), Chris Seligman (Stars), and Evan Cranley (Stars/Broken Social Scene).
