Yellowcard Back on the Road

After postponing a slew of tour dates in April (read more) to allow frontman Ryan Key to undergo emergency throat surgery, Yellowcard are back on the road. The band played their first headlining show on the rescheduled tour Wednesday (June 14), after Key fully recovered from surgery he underwent in mid-May to remove a cyst from his vocal chords. “It felt incredible,” Key told Spin.com. “There was a great energy on stage between the five of us and I think the fans could feel that.” And while the band has an intense tour schedule ahead, Key isn’t too worried about how he’ll hold up post-surgery. “We are just taking it one day at a time,” he said. “As far as precautions go, its no secret that the Yellowcard family likes to party, so I will have to be abstaining from the festivities for the most part. That is probably a good thing anyways.”

The band will be supported on a portion of the tour by bands including Matchbook Romance (read more), Hedley, and Rock Kills Kid (read more).
