For their latest video, Broken Social Scene roped in a few good Canadians, including Rush’s Geddy Lee, Toronto record store owner Brian Taylor, and co-frontman Kevin Drew’s grandmother. In the clip, which boasts a rock-camp-meets-American Idol vibe, the band is put through an intense workout that includes training on stationary bikes, jogging indoors, and performing in a squash court, all while wearing ’70s-style track outfits. After the workout, Lee, Taylor, and Drew’s grandmother sit in judgment of the band members as they take turns showing their progress with the guitar and on the mic, with Lee observing that one member needs vocal lessons.
