Arctic Monkeys bassist Andy Nicholson is officially out of the band. “We have been mates with Andy for a long time and have been through some amazing things together than no one can take away,” the three remaining members (Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, and Matt Helders) wrote in a post on the band’s official site. “We wish Andy the very best.” In May, Nicholson temporarily dropped out of the band owing to what the band called “fatigue following an intense period of touring,” and he was replaced by Nick O’Malley on the band’s North American tour. O’Malley will play with the band for the remaining shows on the tour. No official replacement has been announced.
